The FDA has produced this video on their MedWatch program. The video depicts how nurses can be proactive and interactive with the FDA via MedWatch. According to the video, MedWatch is intended to act as a portal of information for users and not just a one way system of communication. In fact, health care practitioners are encouraged to use it to report adverse events, engage their smartphones to receive alerts from the FDA, review #recall information and drug interaction data. The FDA is actively embracing new digital media in sending out information and asking providers to interact through social media and remain informed. A sign of the times and hopefully all our health care providers are making a concerted effort to keep up with digital media and data.
