BH6 OC: Baymaksu
Introducing to the BH6-verse is Baymaksu. He may not be a superhero like the members of Big Hero 6. But he does his part to protect the citizens of San Fransokyo as an EMT and Paramedic Intern, sometimes as a National Guard Infantry Sergeant. But the secret he keeps from his colleagues is that he’s a diehard BH6 fan that writes fanfiction and fan art under the pseudonym, Baymaksu, working to keep the fandom alive and thriving...
Okay, just kidding I’m not self inserting myself as a BH6 OC. I’m not as brave as Karmi or Reverse!Hiro lol. I already know what I would be doing in that universe... probably being in an ambulance following behind Chief Snooze or escorting citizens away from giant mutated Mayoi (yikes) or taking the fight against Trina’s rogue Buddy Guardians (double yikes!).
If I’m sounding particular humble here... Yeah sorry lol. You’re welcome for my service? (I joke of course, the phrase “Thank you for your service” has always made me feel weird and uncomfortable for some reason.) I don’t know, just sharing my other life a bit with you guys lol. I’m no hero, but I’ve had the honor to serve with them. And the people I’ve served to help care for or protect, have shown me what true human resilience is and that is true real world heroism to me.
I will also add that I do wear a Baymax ID badge holder on my uniform, the pediatric patients I care for absolutely love it! And I keep a respective good luck totem for each uniform. A Big Chibi 6 Baymax in my EMS uniform and Armored Baymax in my military uniform. They give me good luck and strength on hard days :)
Anyways,I just had the idea presented to me by @rimhyokang after she told me how she, @daroszinha and @arctimon had drawings of themselves and well... I wanted to kind of introduce myself to this fandom I love and care about so much. So, now you can put a face to me! And like Arct, my name is Jason and I am male. Although I do take it as a compliment that some folks in the fandom have thought me to be female :)
I am like a cartoon character in that you will see me in the same clothing most of the time. I’m almost always in one of my uniforms, and if I’m not, I’m always comfortable in my favorite hoodie at the moment that represents an organization I’m a part of or an achievement I’m proud of (currently an Army Squad Designated Marksman Course hoodie I earned). But I’m also in Adidas jogging pants and flip flops... if I’m not on duty, I just want to be comfortable lol. I have to be reminded to dress up sometimes if I’m going to an outing lol.
I wholly understand the complexities and cautionary tales of sharing too much of ourselves on the internet. But it’s kind of cool to put a face to folks I look up to, so when I saw the drawings of Arct, Rim and Daros, I wanted to play along.
