People always talk about Fitz and Nighteye's relationship or Fitz and the Fool's relationship and that makes sense but please can we talk about Nighteyes and the Fool. Can we please.
The way the Fool cannot hear Nighteyes' thoughts, but is still sensitive to them. The way he senses when something is amiss with Nighteyes before Fitz does in "Fool's Errand". The way Nighteyes is the one who thinks we are whole when the Fool joins them. The way Nighteyes understands, deeply, the importance of The Scentless One to his pack. The way the Fool is always concerned about Nighteyes' wellbeing (something that seems to baffle Fitz every time), how he gaurds him.
Nighteyes and Beloved are of course linked to one another because of their link to Fitz, but that does not make their bond any less important to me. It doesn't lessen, to me at least, the importance of those two in each other's lives.
