This is a sort of review. I have to say I am a sucker for a pretty bait! I have bins of unbitten lures to prove it. I started hearing the hype around the Mega Bass Ito Vision 110 Silent (what a mouthful!) late last year and into the new year. At 25 bucks for a jerk bait, I thought no thanks I can wait. I rarely catch on a jerk bait anyway. Well, I was placing a order to Tackle Warehouse and browsed the lot and the Gizzard Shad spoke to and against my better judgment it went in the shopping cart and quickly into my yak. A few days later I found myself loading the trusty Jackson Kayak Kilroy onto my cart and rolling down to my favorite back water off of the Colorado River. I started throwing the Ito 110 on a matched Quantum Smoke rod and reel combo in Med Heavy (feels like medium - Med light) within minutes I landed a 18in large mouth and didn’t stop til dark. The combo was awesome and bait amazing. Appeared to run about 5-6 ft. The hooks are a bit delicate but are so sticky sharp, I don’t care. Never had to really set the hook, just a steady retrieve and lean into them. On the second day at first light, I made a cast to long point and hooked up with what would be my PB small mouth at a touch over 5 lbs! At this point I would have paid fifty dollars for this freaking JerkBait! By the end of the trip I had caught 15 smallie and largemouth. The Finnish was a bit chewed and one of the trebles were broken. When I got home, I went to the HookUp website and ordered 2 more of the Ito 110s( one in Gizzard and one in Tennessee Shadg) and 2 boxes of the hooks. I recommend getting the extra hooks if you are going to order an Ito or two. They are delicate but so sharp and will be going on a couple of my favorite top water baits. Overall great baits that look amazing in and out of the water! I will get more and not balk at the price. I think the lack of rattles is a nice change even in dingy water. The ones from the HookUp Tackle-shop had the nice markings on the head while the Tackle warehouse one did not.
