#mega mega cycle

This is the Mega Mega land cycle. Maro mentioned it in one of his podcasts about Mirage. For quite a while they shied away from Legendary Lands, but having a Mega Mega cycle made it easier to spread out the legendary lands.

The Swords are another example of a Mega Mega cycle, there's not that many of these cycles. This cycle started in Mirrodin and finished in Scars of Mirrodin block. Each sword gives two kinds of protection from enemy color combinations and does two neat things when the equipped creature deals combat damage to an opponent.

Whether or not we'll see friendly color versions of the swords someday remains to be seen, but you never know.

The Atog Mega Mega cycle. Here's a great example of a mega mega cycle, where the cards appear over several sets and blocks. While technically not in this cycle, the Atogatog has the other atogs in its picture which is cool. A five card gold cycle of atogs appears in Odyssey that you could sac to the Atogatog. We'll see those a little later.
