Oh yeah! This is the good stuff! A cartoon mole with sunglasses? SIGN. ME. UP. And that expression is just priceless. This mole is so smug. He wears sunglasses underground, and he wants to make sure you know it!

Or maybe he’s smug because he’s incredibly powerful for some reason. Want to jump on him? You’ll just end up standing on his head. Surely a spin jump will do it then, right? Nope! But what about a fireball? Nuh-uh! This mole is even immune to fire! But they can be defeated with a cape swing, a Grab Block, a Shell, or by being eaten by Yoshi. Why those things? Seems like an odd choice if you ask me...

Oh yeah, also, they’re so strong, that if Mario touches them while riding Yoshi, it not only causes Yoshi to run away, but even hurts Mario! They can penetrate even the strongest defenses! For some reason!

And then, after 21 years of absence, Mega Mole returns! Or does it? I don’t actually know. I don’t think anyone does. Morty Mole is labeled “Indy” in the files, which is Mega Mole’s Japanese name, but Morty sure is different!

Morty’s thang is that when jumped upon, he flattens, and must be jumped on again to actually defeat. Look how silly he looks! 

Morty Mole is a funny guy. Even the name is funny. Morty?! That’s a human name, not a mole name! Ha ha! Aside from that, however, there is absolutely nothing funny about the name Morty, and no new reasons for it to be funny have arisen in recent years. I promise. You can trust me.
