Unboxing and testing another Analogue product!
Analogue Mega Sg in Limited Smoked Transparent - Link
Cory Schmitz
Mega Sg includes an unreleased game ⊟
Much like the Super Turrican: Director’s Cut included on the Super Nt console, Analogue has dug up another European shooter for its high-spec Genesis console: Hardcore, by now-Battlefield creator DICE. This is a very cool trend -- a perfect console for preservation, with a little extra preservation on board.
The Mega Sg ships in April.

Mega Sg is Analogue’s take on Sega Genesis ⊟
Following the beautiful FPGA-based Nintendo consoles, Analogue is opening preorders for the Mega Sg, a high-end version of the Sega Genesis that is also compatible with Master System (via included adapter) and SG-1000, Game Gear, and Sega My Card (via extra $10 adapters). And it can connect to the Sega CD! But not 32X.
Like other Analogue hardware, it’s beautiful, and it includes a new 8bitdo controller, which you can also buy separately. This console will be out in April for $189 in a variety of cool colors.

STSH Stream No. 2108384 is LIVE! It’s the second cute em’up day! Last Wednesday, I played two early cutesy arcade shooters, Konami’s Twin Bee, and Sega’s Fantasy Zone, both of which feature living spaceships with arms and legs as the protagonists. This week, I’m playing the home console version of these games, Stinger on the NES, and Fantasy Zone on Sega’s Master System! Stinger is to be played on the Wii U Virtual Console, and Fantasy Zone is being played on the Analogue Mega SG! Twitch.tv/supertrainstationh
Ultracore Review
by Amr (@siegarettes)
Ultracore
Developer: Digital Illusions Computer Entertainment
Publisher: ININ Games
Switch, PS4, Mega SG
Originally developed by DICE for the Amiga and Genesis, Ultracore was recovered and released as part of the launch of the Analgoue Mega SG, a high definition Genesis hardware clone. It remained exclusive to the system, only playable by purchasing expensive, niche hardware. Alongside a physical release from Strictly Limited, Ultracore is finally available to the wider public on Switch and PS4 as a standalone title.
Despite picking up the Mega SG on release, I never played Ultracore, aside from the times I accidentally picked it from the home menu. My reasons were the same as why I never played the release of Super Turrican-Director’s Cut on the Super NT: I’m simply not fond of the European style platformer-shooter hybrids. But with the new Switch release, and after enjoying the PS4 release of Gunlord X, I decided to give this one another chance.
The Game Gear adapter has been fixed!
