I WAS JUST RANDOMLY HIT WITH A THOUGHT ABOUT THAT ONE METALLICA DND AU I HAD

I had entire character sheets for them, and it was so fun to make them?? And they all had backstories and stuff too, I don't rEMEMBER most of the info though, aaaaaa

I do remember I wasn't done with the character sheets though, I think I was stuck on choosing Cliff's wizard spells or something because choosing is scary, uhhh

Last modified July 29, 2021, I FORGOT ABOUT THIS FOR HALF A YEAR??? WHAT.

BUT THEIR CLASSES AND MY REASONING FOR THEM (as types by me):

James - ranger (dog)

Kirk - artificer ([friend] said so hahahha)

Lars - bard (very manipulative and gremliny)

Cliff - wizard (intelligence is music theory + wizard vibes)

Jason - cleric (kind of a bridge between normal and god?)

Dave - barbarian (anger powered)

I'm sorry, this is just so cool to me, I need to finish this one day, and maybe I could add other bands (Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, maybe Exodus but it would literally just be Gary, anyone else would probably depends on whether I can be bothered)

OH YEAH, there was like the slightest of worldbuilding too even though there wasn't much, just enough to give them backstories

WAIT OH MY GOD, THIS ISN'T RELATED TO MY LAST MESSAGE AT ALL BUT JAMES HAD A DOG NAMED CLIVE BECAUSE THERE'S A PHOTOS OF HIM WITH A DOG NAMED CLIVE, I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHO CLIVE BURR WAS AT THE TIME

ANYWAYS, back to the backstories (more like what little plot I had), I just realized that I never wrote it down so I'm going off of memory

James lives alone in the forest with Clive (dog), I think he might have been living there because he went away from the rest of his dragonborn tribe for some reason, but he was acquaintances with Lars the friendly charlatan (he scams people for a living) somehow

Lars is a charlatan who performs music in public (instruments were never decided but apparently his mix of class/race/background/whatever else I did gives him three instrument proficiencies), he's from the college of eloquence which means he's really good at talking

Kirk is a reborn that was formerly a human with the haunted one backstory, he's basically a zombie that is being haunted by a thing except he doesn't remember anything about the thing haunting him

Cliff is a shopowner/performer (he has a job as shopkeeper where he sells magic items or something but also performs for people in some way I haven't figured out yet because his subclass is a mage of prismari and they do "exhibitions of raw creativity through which masterpieces are made"), he and Lars know each other through both of them performing stuff in the same area

The story/campaign but I kind of planned to write it as a story (that never happened) was supposed to start with Kirk being like "what am I doing, here, what is happening, why do I have amnesia" with James nearby because it's a forest and finding him

I don't have a character sheet yet for Dave so who knows what he does, but I know I wanted him and James or Lars to be rivals

Same with Jason except I had no plans with him at all

OH YEAH, Kirk had a steel defender (like a dog except it's metal) named Alca, the name was stolen from a roleplay with a friend in which there's a dog named Alca because alcohol, and Alca and Clive (dog) were supposed to be dog friends because yes

And...that is it

Not a lot of backstory, but I still love this au so much again, it is now time to figure out Cliff's stupid spells

Was relistening to bass stuff I listened to a bit in 2021. Woah. Both David Ellefson clips, solo and isolated regular playing, are still just as cool as I remember them and like. It feels a bit bittersweet relistening because of what actually happened with megadeth which I will just ignore for now because I don't want to think about anything at the moment, but the music is still good and I still love the way he plays and his bass tone. I refound the clips of the Maxwell Tapes too, which are kinda atmospheric/psychedelic-y? clips taken from pre-Metallica when Cliff Burton played bass casually with two other guys he was friends with (honestly forgot who they are right now, but one of them I think was later of the band Faith No More)

The whole album has been listened to, that was genuinely so cool :))))

Pretty interesting that there are two songs with hell in their names, one of them mentioning Satan by name in the lyrics too. I honestly didn't expect that from how there was the period where Dave refused to even play the Conjuring live because of his beliefs, but it also makes sense since I think he started playing it again. I get why he did it, but it's cool to hear that type of stuff mentioned again

BUT ALSO. OH MY GOD, Mission to Mars. I have no words for that song, just oh my GOD. It was so hopeful, I love the communications part thing. I am laying on the floor from this song, what just happened. /very pos
