you realize the "effects" of mega evolution on pokémon is completely taurosshit right? its a pseudoscience, with no evidence to back it up

its a bunch of myths spread by the Aether Foundation, who partially funded the development of both models of the Alolan Pokedex, where those claims came from

I'd love for you to say that to the people who've lost loved ones to it.

Maybe you'd like to get in contact with the couple who's lucario went on a rampage and had to be put down because he didn't stop even after the transformation was ended.

Or maybe the 14 year old who got to hold their tyranitar in their arms after it's shell split and it passed?

Hello! I’m a relatively young trainer, and I recently mega evolved my venusaur for the first time. However, I’m worried I might do something wrong when I inevitably find a gyaradosite. Is there any advice I can have? (I’m a Kantonian trainer if it helps)

To preface: I discourage all use of megaevo. My opinions will be extraordinarily biased.

Firstly, megaevo has been off the market for years now, unless you're working with a specialist it should not be an 'inevitability' that you find megaevo stones. They're off the market and legal tournament banned.

If you do happen upon a gyaradosite somehow, I would HIGHLY advise taking it to the nearest research center to drop off. Gyarados exposed to gyaradosite suffer short term, and in extended use cases, long term brain alterations and damage.

If you'd like further information I would go to your nearest specialist and do NOT use it without assistance from said specialist.

honestly the fact that some pokemon are the type to ignore their own pain and push themselves in battle muddies the waters on mega evolution a lot. like people who's pokemon "aren't hurt" don't realize that their pokemon is actually pushing through pain for the upper hand in a fight

You also have to take into account the mental strain as well.

Pokémon evolution

In my opinion I think Pokémon from older generations have a fourth evolution (mega evolution) just because as time continues many of the Pokémon have evolved allowing change.. I know it's crazy but I'd love for mega evolutions to be added to normal evolutions just as they evolve over time to adapt
