Hope you don’t mind if I ask for some nuggets of wisdom: How did you come up with the stories you’ve told in your comics (Original or otherwise)? Were they something you had on your mind for awhile, or created from scratch out of zero?
I’ve been making stories as long as I can remember. So I suppose the thrive for storytelling has always been there.
Usually the process goes with me thinking up a scene, and then coming up stuff around it. “How did the characters end up in this situation?” “How they’re gonna get out of it?” That’s usually how more adventure/action driven story planning goes.
I also think about the characters, their personality, relationships or backstory etc. When story is more character driven, I think what needs to happen for the character to end up in a situation where more is revealed about them.
I do a lot of story planning when I’m in bed. I find myself getting the best ideas in bed. (and then pray I remember them the next day, haha. I did once wake up and actually write down what I had because it was so important)
I also now write simple scripts of my stories. I’ve noticed that writing the story down, even in very simple way, helps a ton! It’s great to get it out of your mind and then come back to it later and improve it.
