The transcendence of evil... or which "Megatron" is really creepy?
Since I like Cybertron, it will be in the picture, although in most cases, any classic Megatron would fit here... And I mean «Megatron», not Megatron!
Power metamorphoses
Megatron's story is one of how the system breeds its monsters. The perverted power of the predecessors, dogmas and rules of society created the personality that Megatron became. It is important to understand that neither the Autobots nor the Decepticons rarely admit their own mistakes, preferring to shift the blame onto others.
Especially different forms of evil power (if you look closely!) Are shown in the transformation of the character Megatron from Unicron Trilogy. Megatron's armada is the face and power of a military dictatorship, Energon Megatron is the face of power in madness and tyranny to his subordinates, Cybertron Megatron is the face of power of indifference and cold to his subordinates and the destruction of planets (literally Dark Creator syndrome).
Cyclical conflict and…Parallels with reality
The Transformers franchise clearly demonstrates that the destruction of Megatron does not solve systemic problems. This is confirmed by the fact that the character constantly returns in various incarnations. Only in recent projects, especially in the comics MTMTE and "Lost Light," is it shown that changes are possible only when working on oneself both as a person and as a whole society.
It is important to remember that Megatron initially had good intentions to change society.
It's funny that the very essence of "Transformers" often boils down to the fact that after the destruction of Megatron (or Starscream, or Unicron), the Autobots rarely take further action, not every project just shows us this (and many people noticed it). Only in recent projects have they begun to show how they begin to correct the consequences of the war, until a new «Megatron» arises and the cycle begins anew. If we consider the franchise as a single ongoing nightmare of cybertrons, then among the Autobots there are also greedy and thirsty for power or destruction - they just chose a more convenient side!
Nature of transformation
«Megatron» is not just a villain, but a symptom of Cybertron's deep social problems. Like people, transformers are not born evil (not all, but Megatron was not initially evil!) - They become under the influence of the environment, system and circumstances. TF One's Sentinel Prime story serves as prime example of how good intentions can lead to devastating consequences with reality
Philosophical conclusion
The real "Megatron" is a metaphor for how even the noblest ideas can be twisted to please power and ambition. This is such a powerful force that it scares even Megatron himself! Just as tyranny is often hidden in human society under the mask of virtue, so in the universe of transformers, the desire for power often hides destruction and a thirst for power and insane control.
This reminds me once again that often even good and most peaceful ideas, dogmas or concepts are inclined to crush people under their human nature and make complete chaos, holding a bouquet of white lilies in their hands!
Ultimately, Megatron's story teaches us that the problems of society are not solved by simply eliminating individuals - they require systemic changes and work on each member of society.
In their race to capture and weaponise the mighty Mini-cons, The Decepticons, and their terrifying tyrant; Megatron, will stop at nothing til they’re the most powerful beings in the universe…
