Hi! Unfortunately, I haven’t really read many Yellowjackets fics (my AO3 time is typically reserved for Transformers), so I’m unfortunately not much help in the recommendations department 😭

I’ve considered writing lottieshauna, marishauna, and/or mistynat fics, but I suuuuuuck with consistency. Same with my potential Umbrella Academy AU fic.

Let’s never forget that Taissa — a character known for not being the most empathetic — was the only one to sprint to Shauna after Jackie’s death. It was an immediate action with no hesitation. Nobody else even tried to step forward. Where was Nat? Misty? Hell, even Lottie?

And you may argue that it’s simply because Taissa and Shauna got very close in the wilderness, but that doesn’t take away from the fact she was the only person to hold and comfort Shauna; everyone else was willing to stand by and watch her scream out of grief in the freezing cold. Alone.

When concerning things outside the baby, such as Jackie’s death, Tai’s also the only one (besides Lottie) that really shows concern for Shauna throughout their first winter.

I miss their friendship so fucking much.

john kramer fucking funny as hell. the later films have mark carrying out these convoluted and symbolic plots that john had been concocting since long before the present day. and then other times it’s just. so random. oh you didn’t hold the door for an old lady? into the pits of hell you go.

if lottie was antler queen in the fall, natalie was queen in the summer, and shauna was queen in the winter, could there possibly be a forth antler queen post-rescue that represents spring? she’d probably be more subtle than the aforementioned queens.

every time i hear someone call shauna something jigsaw related, i find myself thinking about john putting them in traps: they’re making it out and killing his ass. like they’d ever let a man get the best of them. it’d probably be a good idea for him to just skip these ones.

rating transformers shows

got bored, so here’s my review of every transformers show i’ve seen. some i’m currently in the process of watching, and i’ll give my opinions on them so far. i’ll keep the summaries short.

also, if i shit on a show that you enjoy, please note that it’s not a personal attack! feel free to tell me if/where you disagree.

tfp: what can i say about this show that hasn’t been said before? i adore it. this is the show that got me into transformers in the first place. watching it for the first time is literally a core memory for little me. are there problems with the show? definitely. season one especially stands out to me as a bit of a drag; but i love the predacon arc, and the relic storyline is my favorite. i’ll forever be salty that season three was cut in half. prime also has my favorite version of soundwave.

rating: 9/10

earthspark: definitely a fun time. it was subversive to portray megatron the way they did; he was much more human than most versions get to be. i also love the portrayal of starscream. i very much enjoyed seeing breakdown again. just wish they had kobd; the show already pulled the trigger with a non-binary character, which we love to see. the malto’s are great human protagonists. dot’s a strong character, and her relationship with her family — both human and terran — is the emotional heart of the show. sucks earthspark got cancelled after only one season :/

tfa: animated stands out to me as just a fun show! optimus in this version is probably the least optimus of them all — and that’s great. seeing a new rookie version of him was such a nice change of pace. we’ve yet to have another megatron like the one in animated. i’m also a sucker for when the humans know that the transformers exist, and they go about their days (mostly) chill. sari is also very cute.

rating: 8/10

g1: this one i haven’t made through yet, but from what i’ve seen so far, it’s pretty good. definitely 80’s camp, but who doesn’t enjoy the whimsy of camp? it’s a show to put on when you just wanna chill out. g1 also has my second-favorite version of soundwave.

rating: 7/10

armada: talk about a mixed bag. sometimes the dialogue makes me wish i could only hear tv static. the show sometimes focuses way too much on the humans. it’s lows are lowwwww, and so utterly boring; but when the show gets to its high, it goes through the ceiling. starscream saves the show, along with optimus and megatron. armada’s version of optimus is so unique, and so is starscream’s. i also do like the original trio of humans.

rating: 6/10(?), if only because starscream is there (probably would be 5/10 otherwise)

cybertron/galaxy force: maybe one day i’ll force myself to sit through the rest of cybertron/galaxy force. only watched a couple episodes, and then jumped around watching clips on youtube. i’m not really interested in going back to the show any time soon. i was laughing while watching some of it, but just because of how ridiculous it all was. i was laughing so much. and it still tries to mix the 3-d and 2-d shit, which is just so unappealing on the eyes. soundwave was the best part (no surprise). i sought out compilations of him on youtube.

rating: 3/10, if only because it got laughs outta me

that one fuckass show can burn in hell. giving it a rating would be an insult to every number in existence. no, i haven’t see it all; nor do i ever feel like finishing it. fuck this show. genuinely. the plot? sucks. the animation? sucks. the characters? they suck. and the fact the show butchered starscream — the only part of armada that would’ve been able to rope me in — the way they did is just so fucking stupid. the whole show is stupid. i hate it.

lottie was spot the fuck on when she said that jackie would’ve only wanted her body to feed shauna and the baby. i firmly believe that this wasn’t just said to shauna to alleviate her guilt.

jackie would’ve looked on in horror if the others ate the corpse of one of their teammates, but she’d cut off her own arm and cook it (by herself) to feed shauna and the baby.

the humans in the transformers franchise have limited brain cells and a lot of them are kept by alexis and dot outta pure stubbornness; raf also has his own, as he is the source of the brain cells.

In the TV show “Yellowjackets”, one of the characters, Taissa Turner, newly elected state senator steps down from her position due to her mental health issues, her family issues and her involvement in a group cannibalizing and murdering people back when she was 18. This is a clever nod to the fact that “Yellowjackets” is a work of fiction. Real life politicians have a much higher kill count.

laura lee survives au where she drags her teammates to a priest to confess the fact they hunted and ate their teammates to appease a wilderness god and he deadass sitting there like this the whole time

i also decided to do a deeper look into how they might approach this, as i think it would be an interesting concept. will be posting eventually (hopefully).

though i have my feelings about misty, few moments in the show are more human than her begging coach not to jump. and when all her more manipulative tactics don’t work, she breaks into sobs about how she tried her hardest to save the baby, and how she can’t lose another person.

no lies. no secrets. in that moment misty was a heartbroken sixteen year old girl who blamed herself for a baby’s death. the sixteen year old girl who had to to act as a de-facto midwife. of course she blamed herself for the baby dying.

misty genuinely cares for others. she can feel regret and guilt. and she does have empathy… but the way she goes about it makes it look as if she doesn’t even know the definition of those words.

melissa lowkey like doctor frankestein because she continuously eggs shauna on and urges her to accept the dark parts of herself, but then when she gets what she wished for it’s all of a sudden “why can’t you just be a nice person?” ;(
