Ok so this is creepy right?

I went to a small High School about 100ish people per grade. So we all at least new of each other even if people weren't friends. Around the time of our 10 year reunion lots of people started friending each other and I accepted a friend request from one guy who I had spoken to exactly once, at a birthday party for a mutual acquaintance. That was the sum total of our interaction in 4 years. He sent me a PM, I replied with a short, polite message and after what I felt was an appropriate amount of time unfriended him.

About 2 years later, he sent me another friend request with a short message "Oh you must have fallen off my friends list" etc etc. At that time, I saw his profile he was single had a kid and I had a "Oh God please don't be having some kind of weird crisis" and simply blocked him and moved on with my life.

It is now several years after that and on Wed I got a notification Linked IN that he had sent me a friend request there. That's weird right? Not completely abnormal but still kind of weird right?

Now, I was off work today but happened to check my emails because I needed to do a thing. There was an email directly from him to my work email. It was all hey, you seem to have disappeared off of Facebook and I saw you on Linked In. I saw that you're a recruiter and I'm getting out of the military and can you help me with my resume and interview questions, etc etc".

That's fucking creepy right? I'm not overreacting here? How did he get my work email? My email address is not publicly posted on Linked In. I just don’t even know where to start with how to deal with it. My usual response would just be to block him on Linked In and with my work email but they didn’t seem to be an effective hint on Facebook :/

I am having a very very difficult time finding the reason or will today if you know what I mean.

It's becoming impossible lately.

My husband has taken to lying in wait around the house with our infant son in his arms. Both of them waiting to get me. In closets, behind doors, around corners, everywhere. He tells me it's just in case he dies before I turn fully to the dark side our son at least will have the skills to take me down.

Thank you I appreciate that. :) I’m lucky I have a support system to take care of my son while I stay in bed tonight. Lots of tylenol and fluids and hopefully I’ll be good soon.  Take care of yourself.

no matter what I do as a white person it'll never be good enough.

Hi anon,I’m not sure why you sent this to me? Especially since I’m also a white person?However, when I first started learning about privilege I often had thoughts like this. It didn’t help that I already had depression and feelings of inadequacy. However, it took me a while to realize that it wasn’t about me and thinking that it was is part of the problem. It’s not a matter of being good enough. It’s a matter of recognizing that you have privilege no matter what. It’s inherent in our current system. Once you do that, you can as an ethical person work to change the system using your place of privilege. You take it and you leverage it because that’s what being a decent person is about. Nobody is asking white people to feel bad or guilty or whatever. They just want you to recognize that you have something they don’t and work to change the system so everyone has an equal playing field.I’m not an educator and I currently have a raging fever so I hope that was in anyway coherent.

This is the first time I’ve ever cried during an election and it’s definitely not the good kind. We are lgbt, Jewish, and poly. I’m so very very scared for my son.
