They did it with Rintaro (for Mei), he explicitly did compared her to the sun and it's basically confirmed that he's head over heels in love with her

They did it with Houtaro (for Rinne), or at least an alternate version of him, since Daybreak's image song is called The Sun (and has some... interesting lyrics to say the least)

THIS SCENE. Just, omgosh this is my new favorite scene!! And just the fact that Rintaro was the one that reached out to hold Mei’s hands!!! I originally thought that he was holding them for a different reason (like trying to calm her down or taking her hands off of his coat/after a hug). BUT HE REACHED OUT TO HER FIRST WHILE GIVING HER A LOVING GAZE!!!!  Ya’ll! This is just too pure and sweet!!!
