Beloved Krishna
Suffering humanity no longer hears the sweet melody of your flute,
Played on the banks of the Yamuna River.
Your enchanting melody of divine love enraptured all:
The birds, the beasts, and mankind.
Please play your celestial music in the hearts of humankind once again,
That they may see the light of your salvation.
Bless my sadhana!
Accept my devotion!
I bow to Thee!

Krishna Responds to His Worshipping Devotees
To the devout Hindu, Krishna represents the loftiest incarnation of God, to whom His worshippers have given 108 names. As a great king of ancient India, Krishna is the supreme example of wisdom, justice, and love that should characterize a leader of men. When his disciple Arjuna was loath to fight for righteousness in the battle of Kurukshetra, Krishna exhorted him, symbol of all mankind, to fulfill his divinely ordained duty, and to satisfy his spiritual destiny. The Bhagavad Gita contains the sublime teachings that Krishna gave to Arjuna during the battle of Kurukshetra. Materially and spiritually it is a scripture of unsurpassed beauty and wisdom.
Down through the ages, Krishna has become “all things to all men,” and has been approached confidently by his devotees as the greatest Divine Friend and Lover of Creation; as the Protector of the Innocent; as the Destroyer of Evil; as the Lord of Creation, Preservation, and Destruction. To many, he is the Divine Cowherd, the youthful Gopal, whose flute of celestial love calls errant souls back to Spirit. He has responded in every form to his worshipping devotees.
