"Mekarie of Volantis, Red Priestess of R'hllor, is the last surviving priestess after the resurrection ceremony of Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen. Along with the High Priestess Kinvara and 6 other red priestesses, they journied from Volantis to Valyria as instructed in the Book of Flame. The others burned themselves alive in the Queen's pyre, sacrificing themselves as directed by The Lord of Light. When Mekarie read from the book, His was the voice that spoke the words from the Book of Flame. Mekarie watched as one by one, they entered the fire without fear or hesitation. Drogon's flames burned so hot they didn't have time to scream, only the hissing of their flesh and bones as they burned instantly. But as each priestess disappeared into the fire, the egg each had carried to the Queen would begin to loudly crack within the pyre. Guided by the Lord of Light, the Mother of Dragons would live again, and the Red Witch, Mekarie, would offer any advice, guidance, or service her Queen might need. She is fire made flesh, the Lord of Light has willed it so."
