A fantasy TV commission...
...To all the showrunners who succumbed to dead lesbian tropes or equivalent. Now is your time for redemption.
Writing Team
Barbara Machin - to write the storylines she wanted to years ago, but the BBC didn't allow it.
Sally Wainwright - because she needs absolution for killing Kate Mckenzie. Gentleman Jack went some of the way.
Maxina Alderton - because she writes bloody good Vanity episodes and hasn't killed them off (yet).
Characters/Pairings
Serena Campbell/Bernie Wolfe - they/we deserve a happy ending and life after Holby
Caroline Dawson/Kate Mckenzie - they/we deserved better
Frankie Wharton/Mel Silver - because it should have been
Helen Stewart/Nikki Wade - they/we got a happy ending, but are sorely missed.
Genre
Crime/corporate or they are all smallholders/organic local food/artisans and meet up every after the local farmer's market for dinner/drinks
Or I could just write it.
If you enjoyed BBC’s “Waking the Dead”, it’s returning, of sorts, to BBC Radio 4 Drama this week. This 5-part radio drama takes the team back to 1984, and reunited the cast of Holly Aird (Frankie), Claire Goose (Mel), Sue Johnston (Grace) & Will Johnson (Spence). Anthony Howell (of Foyle’s War) replaces Trevor Eve as Boyd. Written & created by Barbara Machin. It’s so nice to have this dream team back, even if it is just on radio. Giving me the Mel & Frankie feels all over again. Very good so far, if you suspend your disbelief of Mel’s age, which would have been as a child in 1984, according to the tv series. 😂 More on the reunion at RadioTimes - http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2018-03-04/the-stars-of-waking-the-dead-on-their-new-prequel-drama-and-why-the-show-could-be-coming-back-to-tv/
sometimes you gotta watch your second favourite fictional DC be put in a combine harvister and that’s that
fave ladies
We don’t want Mel getting all literary on us. We like her just the way she is.
