☆ It was a quiet, mid-afternoon when Steven and Blue Diamond finally arrived near the top of Brooding Hill, allowing them to gaze out over the consequences of their former battle. It was true that there were splintered pieces of the Temple and the Beach House scattered about Beach City’s coast. But there was nothing that couldn’t be mended or replaced with a little due diligence. The Crystal Gems were already at work repairing the home and the Temple, even Yellow Diamond had decided to chip in here and there; beginning to mend the two ships that lay half-submerged against the tide. There was just one distraction to all of the work: it was a giant, blue woman who’s tears of relief over the newly-rediscovered Pink Diamond were overwhelming everyone to the point of stagnation. It was the hastily-crafted advice on Bismuth’s part that Steven spend some time with his ‘long-lost’ relative. After all, there had been almost no sign of aggression from the Diamond since Pink’s aura had been revealed within the boy. He was in no danger, save for the prospect of being smothered in her embrace. And Steven, insisting to Pearl and Garnet that he would be safe, agreed. So, it was just the two of them; the boy and the Diamond, perched on top of Brooding Hill.
“This seems like a good of a spot as any; right, Blue Diamond?” He craned his head up to glance at the giant woman, hoping to find some semblance of approval. The boy sunk into the grass, his only accessory being the ukulele that was strapped to his back. “I know that it’s been a long time, and I know that all of this has been hard on you.” He breathed out, “And I know that I don’t have Pink’s memories.” He tried his best to put on a friendly face, smiling to the Diamond. “But that doesn’t mean we can’t learn about one another! I-I’m sure you have tons of questions about my home and me and the Crystal Gem, right?”
