Book of the week: Sulwe by Lupita Nyongo This book is a tale of Sulwe a little girl with skin the color of midnight. She is darker than everyone in her family. She is darker than anyone at school. Sulwe just wants to be beautiful and bright like her mother and sister. Go on this journey with her as she finds confidence in her own unique beauty. This is a beautifully written book that I know a lot of black and brown girls can relate to. It’s important for young girls to see representation in the books they read, it helps to build confidence and help combat the inferiority complex most of us grew with.
