I mean, where to start, right? So much going on here. M. exasperata is a foliose lichen has rounded lobes which are shiny green-brown to red-brown on top, and pale-brown on the bottom. The upper surface is covered in volcano-shaped papillae tipped with white pseudocyphella. It produces lots of bowl-shaped apothecia which have a concolorous, indented disk surrounded in a warty, papillate covered exciple. M. exasperata is rare, and grows on deciduous trees in the northern hemisphere.
