spoiler-free lightyear thoughts! 🚀
i just saw lightyear and i thought it was really good! not a new pixar favorite for me personally, but it had lots of heart, it was really funny, and i loved the new side characters (especially sox)!
the animation was spectacular as per pixar tradition. the soundtrack was brilliant, although the previous few films had more memorable soundtracks imo.
i can definitely tell this movie's trying to set up a sub-franchise within toy story, and i'd love for them to expand upon it.
by default, i'm more of a fantasy/coming-of-age type of person over sci-fi (which is why inside out, coco, onward, luca, and turning red are my favorite recent pixar films) but i still saw the film because i love pixar, i love toy story (the first three), and i love buzz lightyear!
chris evans did a great job voicing this buzz, and i can definitely tell he was very excited to do this movie. the other actors were great too. i loved keke palmer as izzy (anyone remember true jackson VP? those were the days)
i think this is gonna be one of those movies where it grows on me with every watch, but i still enjoyed it, and i would like to see more adventures in this world.
i'll give it an 8/10! i recommend this movie to sci-fi fans and toy story fans alike!
so i WAS planning to see hoppers with my sister on sunday...and just now she tells me her throat is sore 🙃
i'm gonna say this right now: if there's any currently-running paramount or warner bros-owned show or future project you're invested in at this moment, now would be a good time to be thinking about jumping ship. no matter how popular something is, the potential for it to go up in flames at any moment will be heightened after the merge occurs. paramount is going into this broke AF. and this is only happening because ellison wants to make his daddy happy by turning warner bros into a fascist propaganda machine. the legacies of paramount and warner bros will be tarnished for good and there will be many lost works and people out of jobs as a result of this.
use this opportunity to get into some indie works. mega-corporations are prioritizing IP over everything else and are flirting with far-right ideologies.
head over to my website - i just did a MAJOR overhaul!
and this isn't the end of the overhaul, as i plan to redo some of my shrines and add even more stuff!
so i just found out that the whole fictional universe i've created in my head based around TV networks and companies and developed for nearly 20 years is a "paracosm". and the heavily modified version of the universe i'm making into "as the cable shorts" is a "heterocosm". i need to lie down
disney will put out some bland ass 2000s nostalgia merch at disney world that's gonna end up in a landfill one day and some white millennial mom influencer will make a video saying some shit like "Fellow Millennials. RUN, don't walk to ✨Disney World.✨ Gen Z, this is NOT for you!" and the comments will be like "Looks like you triggered Gen Z with this one! 🤣"
i didn't start watching always sunny for the sole purpose of having an interest in a live action TV show (even though i've needed to expand my media horizons). but it is very nice to finally have a live action show aimed at adults to talk about IRL when a coworker asks me what TV shows i watch
