I was taking a look at TV Tropes' "X Meets Y" page - basically, you describe something as being "[SOMETHING] + [SOMETHING ELSE] + [MAYBE A THIRD THING]"... and, honestly, I have to raise an eyebrow at some of their examples for characters.
Some of them work pretty well:
But then you have some that feel like they're just picking random characters out of a hat or something. For instance...
First of all, whoa, way too many characters. You don't need THIRTY. Second, I'll admit I'm not super familiar with most of these characters, but of the ones I am familiar with... I guess I could understand Simba and maaaaaaaybe Ash and Luke if I squint a little, but how exactly is Hiccup anything like Sonic?
(They also compare Astrid to Judy Hopps and Rapunzel. Huh?)
This is just all kinds of wrong. Comparing Dracula to Count Von Count? Fine. Genie? A bit of a stretch, but I get the mindset in the way he's animated... but Baloo? How are Dracula and Baloo anything alike? Dracula's a control freak, a concerned but doting father, a bit uptight... Baloo is a laid-back easygoing fella. Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that Dracula is "Count Von Count meets Marlin from Finding Nemo"?
And how on Earth is Frankenstein anything like Melman the Giraffe? Or Wayne anything like Hamm the Piggy Bank?
The Lorax is... a cross between the Lorax from the book, Gru, Phil from Hercules, Horton, and Bloo? I understand Phil since they're both voiced by Danny DeVito, but Horton? Is it because they're both Dr. Seuss characters? Is that the whole reason?
And Bloo? What?
You'll notice from the number of times Dipper and/or Mabel's names appear in these comparisons that there are a lot of Gravity Falls fans on TV Tropes.
Again, I can understand SOME of these, but how on Earth are Nick and Judy anything like Chicken Little and Abby Mallard?
If anything, Nick is Robin Hood + Flynn Rider.
