I love Mindy Kaling
Just watched the movie 'late night' I can't believe this movie was not a "MEGA hit" of 2019.
Mindy Kanling's writing is as always so crisp. I don't know how to explain it but other than "crisp"
Her writing is always the right amount of commercial and funny. Not too edgy but not too cliche. Not to mention the amzing emma thompson, never fail to lead moveis in whatever role she is in.
(of course the movie has its bad moments like when emma thompson suddenly realizes that she was a jerk and decided to turn around the show or the not-necessary-at-all romance between Molly and her collegues..)
I just feel like the movie is what it is supposed to be as a light-hearted rom-com style whatever movie. But it didn't have a BANG moment to be super successful I guess.
Or I hate to be this person but I am this person. It wasn't successful as it could have been because there are an old white lady and indian-american girl on the poster??????????????????(the tone of my voice going higher than *insert weed joke here*)
I can't believe I am saying this but white guys produce mediocre movies all the time but they still get all the credits in the world. AND people sleep on movies like this or wine country and Melissa McCarthy in general.(Melissa McCarthy's filmography is fucking amazing. You Amercians should treat her like Will ferrell, or at least Seth Rogen)
Anyways...Just saying.
