My thoughts are with you and your family. (hugs).

like I said, he'd been sick for a while now, and even though one always hope for the best, we knew his condition wasn't gonna get much better and it was only a matter of time.

all we wanted was for him not to suffer, and he really wasn't doing well at the beginning of the year, but he was getting somewhat better lately, so we weren't really expecting this right now.

he was an exceptional man, who fought until his last day and taught me so much, not only with his words but by example and I'm really proud of him.

I am ok, I've been preparing for this for a few months now, and maybe it hasn't completely sunk in yet, but all in all I'm doing ok. some of my aunts and uncles are staying with us for a few days, which helps.

streetlightlove1 / mellarksloaves - Basically I'm starting to realize more and more that I don't have what it takes to be a writer. I don't even mean the talent - which I'm definitely lacking - but the emotional fortitude to handle people telling you point blank what they think of your work. 

I don't expect everyone to like what I write. And I don't expect every character I write to be likable. But repeatedly hearing how terrible my characters are, how appalling the premise is, that something like this is not to be "taken lightly" (I didn't think I was taking it lightly, but maybe it seems that way?) When everyone thinks you're writing it wrong, and that your character should actually be feeling THIS or doing THIS and not what you've written? It's hard. It hurts.

I don't know. I'm sure it's me and I should learn to take criticism better. But I'm tired and not doing well mentally lately, and what should be a fun hobby that keeps my mind off things is turning into another way for people to remind me how much I suck at life.

1) Why did you choose your URL?

Honestly? Because I had it saved (i had saved it after a post circulated waaaaaaay back, before there was even movies, that used the phrase) and I wanted a change and mellarksloaves pointed out that I'd probably show up on Tumblr mobile if I changed it from 'sassyeverlarking' (remember the days when Tumblr mobile kept certain people from showing up?!). So I switched to 'ichooseupeetachu' and have been going with it ever since. I've thought about changing it a few times, but there's really not much that can top it (that hasn't already been claimed).

2) What is your middle name?

Lynn. It's a family name.  

3) If you could own a fairytale/fictional pet what would it be?

DRAGON. DRAGON DRAGON DRAGON DRAGON DRAAAAAGON.

6) What are your top 3 fandoms?

The Hunger Games and Achievement Hunter are the two things I hardcore fangirl over these days. And I'm not 'actively' involved in the fandom end of Achievement Hunter. The Hunger Games/Everlark fandom is pretty much my home. I do love Josh Hutcherson, but the 'popular' end of his fandom is rather chaotic (and not in a good way) and I mainly just stick to my mutuals who, for the most part, have a sense of reality when it comes to fangirling him.

7) Why do you enjoy Tumblr?

I've met some AMAZING people thanks to this website, I've discovered probably the best fandom I've ever had the privilege to participate in (believe me when I say The Hunger Games/Everlark fandom is far and away one of the least dramatic fandoms I've seen. It's a cake walk around here compared to other fandoms), and Tumblr has made me a more open-minded, thoughtful person.

I'm not tagging anybody either mainly because I'm not sure who's done this and who hasn't. If you haven't, and we're mutuals, DOOOOO IT. I wanna see your answers!
