uH how would dethklok (plus melmord and magnus) react to someone telling them they’re non-binary

Nathan needs some additional explanation. He grew up pretty sheltered and probably still has that more “traditional” mindset in the back of his head. But he wants to understand! He’s not stupid, he can get it! It would probably take him a while to get the hang of different pronouns, and he’d probably slip a lot, but his heart’s in the right place and he keeps trying.

Pickles has never heard that term before, but the second he figures out what it means he totally gets it. He’s no stranger to people who fall outside the binary. He was friends and lovers with all types of folks during his LA days, so it’s nothing new to him. He’s very chill about it.

Toki is visibly confused for a long time, no matter how much the concept is explained to him. Finally he’s just like “but you ams still my friends though, right?” and after confirming that yes, you are, he smiles and says “okay thens, good!” and keeps sharing his chicken nuggets with you.

Skwisgaar’s reaction is hard to gauge at first. You tell him, he goes “oh, ja?”, and then that’s basically it. At first you might be a little upset because he just played his guitar through your conversation and you may worry he probably didn’t hear you or cared about what you said, but then later on Nathan slips up and uses the wrong pronoun, and Skwisgaar corrects him before you do. Wow, so he was listening!

Murderface has a million questions. Some of them are pretty tactless and ignorant, but he’s just really curious and obviously you’re the first person he’s ever talked with about this sort of thing before. Give him a couple websites to check out or something and he’ll fancy himself a total expect on the entire subject of gender next time he sees you.

Magnus’ reaction is similar to Pickles’. He was a young adult in the alternative/punk scene of the 80s and is more than comfortable with someone being non-binary. You kinda get the sense that he wants to say a little more, but he changes the topic.

Melmord is baked out of his fucking mind, but aw shit, he thinks that’s so cool. “You’re, like, outside the system, man. Fuck yeah. Rage against that fuckin’ machine.” He might actually not know what you’re talking about, but he’s got the spirit.

Bonus: Charles looks up from his desk. “Hm? Thank you, noted. Now if you could kindly pass me that stack of forms...”

Aw, Knubbler, of course! :) His face is very fun to draw; I'm not sure why I don't draw him more (but I do have a few more old sketches of him over here)
