I’ve always loved making posters. On a personal level, I find them liberating to make, free from the anxiety that seeps into my sketches and paintings. On a cultural level, posters have always been an effective way to grab someone’s attention, raise awareness, and invite shared values.

This morning, when jetlag woke me up at 6 am and I started to scroll through the sad and enraging news on my Facebook feed, I decided to make a poster.

Today I learned that under the Trump administration there is great uncertainty surrounding the Endangered Species Act. Since the 1970’s, this act has saved hundreds of species and is one of the most powerful conservation methods known today. Many countries strive to preserve their endangered animal and plant life, and now North American species could be in trouble.

More than 1,600 plants and animals in the U.S. are shielded by the law. Hundreds more are under consideration for protection.

So, why target it? The Endangered Species Act stands in the way of valuable land for damaging anti-environment actions such as drilling and logging.

Dicked around with my new Cintiq <3 The display is super wonky so i used it as a flat tablet and looked off my screen for color and just scribbled around. Gonna have to get the Razer Core for it to function properly I think. But in the meantime, this is super cool. Hopefully soon I can do something other than scribble. :)
