           There is so much I want to explore & do with his family. Their loyalty to each other opens so many doors it makes it hard for focus on just one tbh. One of the reasons this took so long c:

1. Upon creating this blog I got inspired for a Gryffindor verse for Draco via fanart, thought it was positively beautiful, namely for the possible angst that could come of it. I do want a thread for Lucius’ reactions to that, y’know once I figure out how to make it a realist assurance for myself. There are so many way we could go with it, well depending on how much you love angst.

2. It is a plot idea, though not really a thread. I want to plot or just chat about our views of Draco’s childhood and build upon it. Either write some (which i have no idea how I’ll be writing a wee one but it could be a fun challenge) or just world build with the exchange ^_^

3. I’d like to dive into their relationship during the time between 6th and 7th year? not to mention 7th year. Mainly because the whole family, to me, becomes closer during that time. Draco’s views of blood purity are fracturing sure, but they come closer. Narcissa, Lucius & Draco. Sometimes i swear they could have full on conversations with a look & they know exactly what that conversation is without speaking. Though it doesn’t feel like Legilimency, it could be but it doesn’t feel that way to me.

Bonus. I’d love to jump in deep and see or plot how Lucius feels about Draco’s viewpoint altering. c:

          Draco easily raises a silver-white brow at his second cousin, holding back his knee jerk reaction that could involve him sneering at her in rage & making a blunt statement of the blindness of the Gryffindors. They do so love seeing the world in black & white. Ignoring the temptation, he blinks at her as if she made him realize something. Turning just enough so his grey eyes could retrace his steps, deeply in thought. Seemingly searching for his heart upon the floor.

     Turning back to her, he shrugs carelessly. “I probably left it on the reading table in my room, alongside my sensitive innermost feelings. I will have to owl mother about my forgetfulness. She’ll send them right away.”

          Draco bolts awake at the voice, his hands coming up defensively. Stopping half way when his dazed eyes instantly focus on his mother. It jolts him fearfully, he doesn’t wish to knock into her upon his nearly violent waking. 

     Balancing himself on his elbows, he struggles to calm his breathing, grey eyes blinking rapidly to adjust to the dim lighting. Running a hair through his silver-white hair, tugging the unruly strands back, swallowing hard to push back the impulse to lick his lips. Slowly, he sits up, pressing his eyes into his mother’s shoulder. As if the very act allows him to breathe in her comfort & inner strength.

     “ I didn’t mean to wake you. ” He had no idea what time it was. Did he wake his mother? Had she been passing by? His mother’s response would be the only way to tell.

          Draco bolts upright in his bed, coming awake with a loud wheezing gasp, as if his body was under the impression he was suffocating. Hunching forward his head falls into his hands while he strives to control his breathe. Nearly jumping when he hears a voice, his head jerking towards the door, his grey eyes unfocused & filled with fear. That is until he realizes the voice belongs to his father. Causing his eyes to focus instantly & for him to question why he hadn’t recognized his voice in the first place.

     Had he been screaming in his sleep? Did his nightmare wake him? Or had his father’s voice or opening the door caused him to wake?

     Wincing visibly when his father’s words actually sink in. Not because of his father, he feels some level of relief with him there, the stiffness of his body moderately dissipating with that knowledge. It’s more for the fact he doesn’t want to speak the words. Doesn’t want to admit anything. 

     “Professor Burbage.”  His voice is controlled when he finally pushes the name past his lips. It wasn’t the beginning of his nightmares, but that specific one. Being truthful with his father to a point.

          Draco pauses just as he was about to take a bite of his apple, he might have looked like a right fool considering it took him a few seconds to process the request. Lovely timing, Potter. 

     Lowering his apple, he turns his head & quirks a silver-white eyebrow when he notices Potter is indeed talking to him. Holding in the simple question of pardon? he considers the other’s question, dragging out his thoughtfulness a few seconds longer than was necessary. “I might find the time.” There’s a hint of amusement in his bluish grey depths. He did have that charms essay to finish, it wasn’t due till next week, but he wanted to be done with it. A break could be fun.

     “Do I need to bring anything for the occasion?” Draco asks without realizing the words were going to come out of his mouth. Blinking at himself. “If I end up having the time.”

           Draco shifts his perch on the benches when Theodora speaks, resting his forearms against his legs. Grey eyes glued to the cup, watching as the students make their way to add their own name. “Who says I would offer to pay you?” Comes his quick reply as he scowls, his eyes drinking in the room, his voice a low hum purposely so the noise of the students surrounding them would overshadow them. His fingers rotate his family ring thoughtfully. “I was ordered to stay out of it.” Course if Potter put his name in, he knew his father would be cross when he follows suit.

          Draco’s at a holiday gathering his mother insisted they go to as a family. He knew what she was doing, showing that the Malfoy family still has unity. Draco was unwilling to argued it, giving her the outing she wanted without a word. Wanting that gleam vanishing from her eyes.

     He feels relief when he spots Theodora, quickly dragging her into a focused debate of a major part of history. Not caring that Theodora was right, picking the opposing argument just to keep it going, keep his mind focused away from the awkwardness of the atmosphere.

     At her ‘Ew…’, Draco pulls his eyes from the crowd, distracted from his rebuttal that was filled with educated hot air & follows her line of sight upwards. Of course there had to be magically moving mistletoe. Looking back to her, he quirks a silver-white brow at his friend, looking moderately insulted. 

     He doesn’t go to kiss her however, with a dramatic eye roll at her single world he grasps her hand delicately, bowing down to kiss her knuckles. Lowering & releasing it within moments, shifting to press his forearm against the railing, leaning closer he glances upwards once more. “During fifth year, I always wondered if the Weasley’s used mistletoe in their concoctions.”
