It's time for our second member feature! Our featured member is Shawn Lee! Shawn is a 2017 member of the mellophone section from Michigan. When asked why he chose Pioneer, Shawn said "I was drawn to Pioneer by a couple of my friends who told me that the family environment made it a great place to march." We asked Shawn what his favorite memory of Pioneer was and he told us "The first day I showed up, as I had filled a hole at the end of spring training. I was rather nervous about how I'd be received, but I felt welcome from the first moment I arrived. I knew at that point I had found my home." Join Shawn and others like him this summer! Flower
Just like that, you were gone. As if a flower had been plucked from the ground, doomed to slowly wilt before death. A beautiful flower that had been taken from my garden. A flower that stood out among all others. You belonged to me, but oh.. no more. Now you belonged to Death.
Oh, how I wish I could see your face just once more. Kiss those tender lips I craved so deeply. Touch that soft, angelic skin. How cruel it was, for you to be stolen from me. My beautiful flower. My love for you is undying despite you being gone.
My beautiful baby.. why did you have to leave so soon? My heart is so, so cold. I truly wish I could have made sure one last time that you knew how much I loved you, and how much I still do.
I regret not getting the chance to propose to you. I regret not getting to take you on another date. I miss you so, so dearly, my love. You taught me how to see the good things in life. You taught me how to trust and love again. You gave me warmth and the happiness to know that I was loved by you.
I wish they hadn't picked you. I wish they hadn't picked my beautiful flower from my garden. I just wish they hadn't picked you out of everyone, to be torn away. I can't blame them though, because everyone picks the most beautiful flower out of the garden.
