a big phat meme.
Sure!
First, thank you for your interest!
To make it clear, I do want to make a full fursuit of Luna one day, but, I do not currently have the money (or the time?) to go ahead and make one. Since the con crept around sooner than I was ready for, I only made tails.
Well, my friend and I went searching around for materials and couldn't find the perfect colours, but we really couldn't be picky xP
So as a start, I went home and made a pattern out of lined paper for a side of the tail and the underside, and cut out 3 pieces for each tail for a rounded triangle shape.
Sewing wasn’t so fun with the crocogator tail because the machine would hiccup many times and destroy the thread. It took 3 days to sew the croc tail (mostly because I couldn’t fed up with the constant messups)
this is after sewing was done- if you don’t already know, you have to sew projects inside-out first so that the seams don’t show. Then, you invert the whole piece and it should look like normal (minus the deflated-ness)
And of course, stuffing the tail! I always loosen the stuffing better inserting it into my projects for a fluffier feel. No one wants a lumpy tail !
I had no better material at the moment, and cut the fins out of cardboard boxes. The beige fins were spray painted and the black ones were hand-painted with acrylic paint. The tail itself was also spray painted and painted over with black for the realistic crocodile feel.
The process for Luna’s tail was very similar, except there was no painting of the tail. The floof was just enough~ The fins were also cut from cardboard and painted with acrylic (a mix of Red, Yellow, Orange, and beige). To seal both tails I cut out a traced shape, like a lid on a can, and sewed it on, so the stuffing stays inside!
For lack of anything better, Luna’s tail fluff was made from yarn. I tied a few strands together, cut the ends, and brushed it out for maximum floof!! I did this multiple times and sown all the bunches together for a big floofs.
(man I need to stop working in my boxers x///x enjoy my wonderfully hairles s le g s)
Last but not least, getting the tails to attach to our booties! I made latches for them to hang onto the belt loop(s) of our pants. Buttons sown on fastened the latches and I made button holes to prevent the fabric from ripping from tension. Due to height differences (I’m 5′ foot tall and Memedile is like, 5′9 or something stupid. Yeah I’m a very tiny person) Luna’s tail was given 2 latches, one on either side of the booty. and Memedile’s tail had one latch for the very top.
And because I made the tails so long, they both dragged on the floor (and got stepped on!! >:1
But yeah! There’s a deeper explanation of how I made these tails~
I’ll be uploading a post showing parts of my experience at the Megaplex convention soon!
(don’t mind any spelling/grammar errors if I made any, it’s rather late for me)
aND some more wiggle waggles, but, the scaly version
again, dontmindmylegsplease
Progress pictures of when I made furry/scaly tails for the Megaplex Convention in Kissimmee for Memedile and I (Sorry for some of the crap photos but you get the idea!)
Featuring Memedile and Luna Marquer (shown below if you’re new to my blog or have forgotten)
@epicdenver’s Memedile
and me of course! Luna Marquer~
Cheap materials because we’re poor and I had less than 2 weeks to make these. It took a week for me to make the croc tail (mainly because the sewing machine DID NOT like the fabric) and 2 days to make Luna’s tail. (the fluff needs to be fluffier I know)
I love how these came out despite how cheap they are <3

This was fun to draw, thanks budd~
