There was a time when I could fall asleep effortlessly in her lap no struggle, no worries just the kind of tiredness that comes from playing and studying all day, and the kind of peace that only her presence could give.
She took me with her everywhere: to temples, to family gatherings, to every traditional occasion and to any place where life felt sacred and familiar. With her, I always felt warmth, safety, and comfort. The love she gave me was the purest kind: merciful, patient, protective, and full of quiet hope. She cared for me without conditions, without keeping count, without ever making me feel like I didn’t belong to her, even though one day I would grow up and leave to build a life of my own.
She was truly beautiful, inside and out. And in so many ways, she raised me, shaping my childhood with tenderness and teaching me how to be a better, gentler person. She gave me love without asking for anything in return. Now I miss her everywhere. In every small moment of pampering. In every place where I see children with their grandparents. Because deep down I know the world starts to feel a little colder when the people who loved you most purely are no longer there to hold you.
And then, suddenly, I was left living with memories some of them fading with time, yet still powerful enough to overwhelm me the moment I let myself feel them.
You are, you were, and you will always be my most precious person, the one who loved me unconditionally, without debt or demand. I’m sorry I couldn’t take care of you the way you deserved, the way you always quietly needed. You gave me everything when I had nothing but my childhood to offer in return.
I carry you with me, always 🍁✨💌
