I was not expecting to see a memorial bench with a name I know on it today.
One of my brother’s friends from high school. Whose younger siblings I met, my sister was friends with one of them. The other was in my class grade, I didn’t know him personally or anything but still.
It really hits so different and so much harder when you know about the person.

Had a trip to London a couple of weeks ago and decided to take a trip to see Alan's memorial bench, which I only found out existed a few months ago. If anyone wants to find it it's in Kensington gardens on the flower walk near the Albert memorial.
It was rainy in Hammersmith today.

Update: Found
I was down in London today so decided to go hunting around Hammersmith for Rik's bench. You'd think this would be a fairly simple task - what with it being an actual location on Google Maps and all - but I'm a northerner so London is like a maze to me.
Anyway, after waaay too long searching when it was in fact right by the tube station, the bench was found! I took some pictures, as you can see, and thought I'd share them on here for anyone who hasn't been able to see his bench in person.
Also, the birthday banner made me smile.
Thank you Rik, you utter bastard, for never failing to make me laugh.
