not be anti mikototsu but no one person gives Mikoto enough credit on his own self-restraint. Like every scene where Mikoto uses his aura everyone is suprised by the amount of power he actually has. Like Reisi who has faced off against mikoto enough times was still blinded by his power on the school island and when mikoto appeared with Anna to blast the path to the slates, Seri was stunned speechless at his power. Saruhiko only reacted fast enough because he has faced that power and accepted his death during Green's side mission event. When colorless king tried highjacking mikoto's soul he was surprised by burning lion inside Mikoto. Mikoto worst nightmare is losing controling, he burns himself up inside to stay in control.

And he did for Totsuka. He kept in cage, he kept his 'kingly court' for Tostuka. He kept himself in check 1st for Totsuka and then everyone else. So it not just Totsuka's aura that kept Mikoto from losing, but his very being. And not even his being alive.

Everyone knew Mikoto was gonna lose control and cause another crater when Totsuka died. Even when all that grief, rage and pain Mikoto kept himself in check until he could find the colorless king.

The way the manga protrays is as soon Mikoto says those words aloud "totsuka's dead" he starts to burn up
