It looks straightforward - judges have enemies and her bodyguard was collateral damage. But as Amos and his new partner follow their leads many things don’t add up. Amos is unsure who the real target was. And his memory is not working right. And his partner is different and Amos does not like change.” I had a hard time putting this book down. Great pace and story. Baldacci gives the reader several - “Wait - What?!” moments. You will not guess the direction and reveal from DB. And best place ever to hide a microphone 😮. If you haven’t read Baldacci, what are you waiting for? Every book can be read as a stand-alone. I was a little worried about the lack of pre-release publicity. No arcs, no Netgalley, nothing. Last time that happened the book was a miss. But this is another great Baldacci story.
