I think Baizhi and Jiyan are long overdue for a conversation about the sonoro sphere from Jiyan's companion quest since Baizhi is the head of that branch and we never got to see what the Huaxu Academy did with it. Whether he likes it or not, Jiyan will need to talk about what happened there to be able to provide useful information to decode and write a report on the sonoro.
With that said, I think a lot of how these two are familiar with loss and specifically losing their teammates in sudden and horrific circumstances, so it wouldn't be surprising if they've run into each other more than once when they're paying a visit to the memorial site.
On a lighter note... What does Baizhi think about going to Rinascita to study the unique sonoro spheres in Ragunna? Accompany Jiyan and the other Jinzhou representatives in that one work trip to Rinascita from the sonoro sphere party event? I think they would've a blast in Ragunna! (No one tell them that they were deceived into taking forced vacations and that the diplomats will leave them on their own most of the time...)
I was thinking it would be cute to have a 'various times in which Baizhi and Jiyan ran into each other while at work' thread, like meeting during one of Baizhi's field days with a group of researchers, meeting at the Huaxu Academy because Jiyan needed to get his forte examination report updated or needed to discuss weaponry, meeting at the Library because they both happened to be searching for old archives, meeting at the Theater because their friends dragged them there, and so on.
I won't lie, I keep thinking of these two going on an arcade date and winning the grand prize phantom gulpuff plushie. Also, other places most don't expect them to see them at due to their apparent 'serious' personalities, like a trending coffee shop, a karaoke (<- Jiyan will die in this one), etc. Even better if Chixia put them up to it because Chixia is an amazing friend like that!

Accompany one another for their field days. There's something bittersweet about these two setting camps on the outskirts of Jinzhou and uncovering remnants of past civilizations, ruins left by researchers, the last messages of people before they were struck by the Lament, previously undiscovered caves and ecosystems that seem like they were never hit by the Lament, going to the Port City of Guixu or even Mt. Firmament after it's the temporal crisis is resolved (and they honestly need to keep an eye on Xiangli Yao since last time they let him go to Mt. Firmament, he returned with a new arm).
I was also thinking that in this verse Jiyan would get to see Baizhi before and after the incident with her team and how she changed after it, and while I don't have an exact plot in mind for this, it could be an interesting subject to approach.
Finally, can Jiyan have a years-old crush on Baizhi? It can be completely one-sided, no pressure! I just think that after getting to know Baizhi and going on field days and camping together for years, it would be a natural development for Jiyan to develop feelings for her while simultaneously staying unaware of the feelings that have been developing in him for years... until something happens.
