Italian designer & architect, Ettore Sottsass and Fernanda Pivano, Bogliasco Pieve September 22 1967.  Snapped by Allen. Nanda was Allen’s Italian translator, and  married to Ettore.  All three had just dined with Ezra Pound in Rapallo when Pound was famously keeping his vow of silence.    Pivano, a close friend & translator of Hemingway, was responsible for familiarizing Italians with many of the great American writers of the 20th century.
