In the months and weeks leading up to this event I set aside my items in need of repair whenever I came across them. #mendmarch 17 MY YEAR INDOORS We start exactly one year ago. I was doing an inventory of the skirts I wanted to rehab. #mendmarch 15 SAGGY Observe the three SAGGY lounge pants. The spandex has died and they all grew in length and cause me to trip. Can’t even use them for studio pants. My plan is to cut them into strips lengthwise and then do some rug knotting with them (photo 2). That will be many many projects from now. I’m knot (harhar) starting it until I finish some UFOs already mentioned. In fact, the indigo and pink piece behind my two knotted strips is another one of those UFOs ( #unfinishedobjects ) floating around on my work table. . #mendmarch 14 BENDS I sewed this sock that BENDS around the top edge of the Crazy Quilt during last year’s Zoom mender meetup hosted by @visiblemend Ever since, it has sent me around the BEND! The heel of the sock, I just don’t like how it looks. Today, I mended the visual problem, covering it with a new patch of my Agapanthus print from Spoonflower. @spoonflower strike-off swatches make great patches! #mendmarch 13 MAKE AMENDS I must MAKE AMENDS to my keyboard, which I doused with water yesterday. I gave it a day in The Solarium to no avail. The keys o, L, “, and the arrow keys don’t work any more. Substituting zer0, the vertica| |ine, and I can’t think of a sub for “ makes my typing too cRaZy looking. #mendmarch 12 MAKE FRIENDS Today two of my #mendingfriends did a virtual tour of the studio of @mending_as_metaphor under the auspices of @textileartsla . Ruth is SO inspiring!
