Founder's Day was always a bit of a touchy situation for the Omega, if only because he knew that there was also a slight connotation to it - that Founder's Day was also a day to celebrate the wolves that made this place possible, and in Yric's life? That was his step-father. Of course, the man didn't want anything to do with him and practically told him as such, and while Yric didn't like the man, he still couldn't help but feel the yearning when he saw pups and young wolves alike thanking their parents for their sacrifice.
It was almost too much, so the Omega found himself heading to the river's edge to get away from the commotion - at least for a bit, as he was sure that both his mother and Jensen's parents would want to see him standing next to his mate - and he looked on, arms resting upon his knees as he sat there. The breeze was cool, gentle, but it was still a surprisingly warm day for it being a season when typically they'd wear furs, and he enjoyed the quiet.
Until he heard a footstep.
"I can't get a break for five minutes, huh?"
