It's Menos Mooooooondaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

I made these for @ippoddity's birthday last month, and did a little photoshoot before I packed them into their box and sent them off. Menos Matryoshka! Painted in a style inspired by khokhloma, a style of Russian folk art.

The wooden bases are from a craft mall in St. Petersburg. I've had them for quite some time, and they seemed PERFECT for Menos. I painted them with black enamel paint + acrylics for the rest. They were also painted with mortal terror, as I learned how to paint vines and strawberries (ALL FOR YOU, ICHIGO).

Then I had lots of fun posing them like they went to a mall in the 90s for family portraits. 😊

Look at him he’s so peaceful 😭😭😭😭 cute baby Menos, forest bathing. The desert burns his little gastropod body and it’s nicer in Rukongai. He came into being while I was waiting for the cupcakes to finish baking.

@ippoddity sent me a Lil’ Guy for my birthday and they are the cutest little blorbo. ToT MY HEART. MENOS MINI. <333333 I love them so much. They’ve been doing a lot of traveling. [DID YOU KNOW? Gillians go on walkabouts as a rite of passage before they reach full maturity!]

1) They made a friend at the Osaka Aquarium.

2) Met some Totoro.

3) Learned that Love: It’s What Makes a Subaru a Subaru. (Valuable lesson, for a Hollow.)

4) Went to Russia and met their childhood TV hero, Cheburashka. 

Specifically, they showed up via Garganta in Osaka, took a train up to Saitama, then roadtripped (via Subaru rooftop) clear to Hokkaido and then to Sakhalin. They vlogged it all on Instagram for the Hollow fam back home.
