pondering the thought of showverse gurathin arriving on preservation in a tremulous physically weakened state, desperate to prove himself to mensah, to thank her in any way possible for the life-saving gift of getting him Out of the corporation rim, but constantly seeming like he's about to collapse into a heap at any given moment so everyone's just like, it's okay gura, don't overexert yourself <3 every day you're taking another step in your journey towards healing <3
until one day, when there's only the vaguest hint of an off-worlder politician or whatever trying to intimidate mensah into making a disadvantageous deal for preservation, gurathin coolly and calmly recites the ways he can ruin the off-worlder's life, the lives of their families, the lives of their friends, and of course the off-worlder's business through a simple correlation and collection of publicly available data that nobody but an augmented human with advanced processing power would bother to sift through and filter. oh what's that? suddenly you're reconsidering your initial laughably low offer? for triple the initial price at minimum? excellent. it was a pleasure doing business with you.
and mensah, absorbing and re-evaluating the dimensions of what she knows about her newfound [friend/ally/oathsworn data analyst], tells him, we don't do that on preservation, darling... but that was an incredible display.
(and then he rides the high of that praise for the next year, at least)
