if your body is menstruating, how old were you when you got your period for the first time?

Thanks to @about-that-teenie-girl2 for the poll request! I will have to adjust the wording to account for people who used to menstruate but no longer do, but the question will maintain its meaning, don't worry!

NOTE: All you peeps who used to menstruate but don't any more, whether that's because of taking testosterone as part of gender transition (as is my situation), menopause, eating disorders, hysterectomy, or any other reason - I tried to word the question to account for every nuance, but if I haven't succeeded, then I apologise. 🧡

If you have (or used to have) periods, how old were you when you had your first menstrual cycle?

8 or younger (8 is medically considered the earliest the body can menstruate)

15 or older (15 is considered late, but healthy. Older can mean health issues)

Is 19 too young for a hysterectomy? Because I’m genuinely considering one. 2 out of 3 periods are generally okay, but the 3rd. The 3rd is hell. It’s not so much the cramps - they suck, yeah, but I can deal. Painkillers and we push through. It’s the stuff that comes along with the cramps. The dizziness and the nausea. It’s the fact that if I’m upright for longer than 2 minutes I get light-headed and my vision goes blurry. It’s the unbelievable amount of sweating. It’s fucking debilitating, because there’s nothing you can do to combat it except stay horizontal and try to sleep it off. Misery.

I say I like using a menstrual cup because of sustainability and lessening risk of infection and utility in the inevitable post apocalyptic scenario

But the real reason I like it is because it is metal as fuck to pull basically a tiny goblet of blood out of you in the shower.

My fellow menstruators who use reusable pads and/or period underwear, how would you rate them?

1-2 stars, they suck and aren't worth it

3-4 stars, they're okay but I've definitely used better products

5-6 stars, they work pretty well but overall are neither great or bad

7-8 stars, I really really like them and use them frequently, if not every cycle

9-10 stars, they're amazing and I love them

I'm thinking of getting a sample pack! I see a lot of people on here saying that they like them but I wanted to see the average overall opinion from other people.

If y'all could recommend some brands or even other reusable products that you've liked, that'd be really, really appreciated!

Sanitary pads should be bigger in size or at least come in different sizes. Not every menstruating person have the same type of vagina, (LENGTH)/width wise.
