This 1923 photo of a potential immigrant doing a puzzle as part of a mental examination at Ellis Island looks incredibly benign these days. The test was required in order to be admitted into the United States.

One day method — testing finished, 07/15

This is def not a real method, but something I'm trying out to test.

I noticed that when I don’t focus on a manifestation or don’t really care about it, I get it very quickly. So I will be trying this out with something very random.

Purple roses. I wanted to do pink, but I felt purple was more of a challenge.

So for one day I will affirm that I see purple roses. That and that I manifest instantly. I will not force myself to affirm and only do it when it feels natural or just comes to me. After this day, I will drop it and move on.

When the manifestation comes through my 3d, I will report back here and share my results.

Affirming day notes:

Been noticing a lot of purple things today. I think the affirming is working already.

I saw a dress with flowers that looked purple but kinda looked pink and the same time. Huge improvement, but not roses. Tbh I have been saying flower lol.

My affs have been - I always see purple roses, I love seeing purple roses, purple roses follow me everywhere I go.

Because academic positions were not generally open to women, many [female psychologists] found work in applied fields. Florence Goodenough developed the Draw-A-Man test, a version of which is still used today. Maude Merrill James worked with Terman on the Stanford-Binet, and Thelma Thurstone worked with her husband on the Primary Mental Abilities test. Psyche Cattell extended the Stanford-Binet to be used with babies as young as 3 months. Anne Anastasi became an authority on psychological testing, writing over 150 articles and a testing textbook. Although these women were successful, careers outside of academia tended to be invisible with regard to enduring professional reputation.
