[Starter for @mentat-mayor]
“Hancock?”
His name was half-mumbled, stumbling through a portion of the statehouse she wasn’t familiar with and wondering where half of her effects were. That, however, was far from the most prominent thought on her mind-- no, he was on her mind, front and center.
She’d woken up in memory. The collapsing building. The horrible, wrenching sound of metal beams giving way and brickwork collasping as gravity took its inevitable toll. Holding onto him as they both made that last desperate lunge for safety.
She couldn’t describe why, but she needed to see him. Confirm her memory was correct, that they both made it out of there-- that she hadn’t invented some delusion and stumbled in her by herself.
“Hancock?”
She called for him again, a bit louder, finding her way back to his office.
