I feel genuinely so terrible for and want to express my love and support to everybody online who feels the need to apologize for or warn about their identity, who are afraid of their closest friends cutting them off because of their identity, who constantly have to hear that their identity isn't allowed to exist and people treat it as a controversial discourse topic, who constantly have to see their identity on "do not interact" lists, who have a following and know if they are honest about their identity they could lose everything and face harassment for years, I could go on and on. your labels should never have to be a dictator of your morality, unless they are explicitly created to express hatred. It is so deeply upsetting and cruel that people think this is how things should work. I promise you, if you are someone with an infamously "invalid identity label" reading this, that there are people who love you and will welcome you with open arms, no closet or mask needed. I truly believe that the things that are widely hated now will become slowly more accepted over time; I have seen it happen countless times. I hope that one day, your genuine lived experience won't be used as a punching bag. embrace how you truly feel and surround yourself with positivity and support, you do not have to sit and take it.
