saiki getting forcefully nonchalant-ified by the animators compilation
why would he say that
"i dont hate this female character, i just have a nuanced take on her" and the nuanced take is comically stereotypical misogyny
saiteru is so misunderstood and its so sad because its genuinely one of the best implied ships ive ever seen
girl who thinks she can only be loved for her appearance and when she sacrifices her own happiness and privacy for the sake of others............ guy who doesnt care about her appearance and grows to care about her despite knowing all her secrets, and insists that she doesnt need to sacrifice anything but still admires her for it......... u guys only hate them cuz u hate to see a girlboss winning
that anon confession about how the psychics shouldve stayed as just toritsuka and saiki isnt something ive ever thought about before but it is making me now think about how... i probably wouldn't like saiki k as much if aiura didnt exist
i really believe that the three psychics were a necessary balance. toritsuka is arguably more important as a foil to saiki, but the vibe of the second season wouldve been totally different without aiura.
the protagonist who sees himself as selfish, and who does his best for others for the most part but really IS selfish at times because of his lack of hope in humanity, and then the perverted psychic who legitimately only uses his powers for selfish reasons until he meets the protagonist. thats already a good balance, but saiki doesnt benefit much from that. and then comes the psychic who is selfless to a fault and does TOO MUCH for the sake of others. NOW saiki is benefiting from this trio dynamic.
i like the idea that since teruhashi has never been treated like a normal person before, saiki can say literally anything totally normal to her and she'd think hes trying to rizz her up 😭 "hey, dont be afraid to be yourself around me." "IS THEIS A FUCJDIDNHG LOEVE COFNESSUON??"
it pisses me off so bad when people talk about how saiki did nothing for mera... what do you mean he did nothing for mera... HE GAVE HER HIS COFFEE JELLY... he gave her a plane ticket... he reunited her with her dad...
obviously hes not going to make her rich or something because one of his principles is that he wont directly use his powers for money and that he doesnt like to play god in ways that would affect people too greatly, plus its a gag manga and shes a gag character ☠️ if he HAD made her rich, the narrative wouldve made her poor again just like when she WAS temporarily rich 😭
and yea he was hesitant to help her with her dad but did yall forget why 💔 saiki isnt literally god, he cant perfectly know how to fix complicated situations at the drop of a hat and the way aiura had tried to help her was hurting her 😭 (and she may have literally gone to puerto rico to find her dad, or killed herself trying, when he wasn't there anymore if saiki hadn't brought up mera's suffering to aiura)
me when im autistic and i see people with a very popular "headcanon" or "theory" that completely ignores the entire point of the show but i cant tell them they misunderstood the whole thing lest i be seen as an asshole
