5. It might seem easy to say Eclipse but the answer is actually Mephiles. Since he’s a god he has no resilience when it comes to learning new tasks so he silent quits almost everything he starts. Eclipse has the drive of a rabid chihuahua and will refuse to give up on a hobby to his own detriment

6. Once again you may think it’s Mephiles because of his canon but the true answer is Eclipse! Mephiles is too grumpy and tired to hold a grudge, whereas Eclipse passive aggressively holds them. Like, if Mephiles didn’t wash the dishes one night Eclipse will bring it up EVERY GODDAMN TIME THEY SEE PLATES OR EAT FOOD. He pretends to be joking but we know the truth…

7. Okay FINE this one is Mephiles. He gets away with mouthing the words a lot because… well… -> 😶

MEPHCLIPSE MY BELOVED!!!

- they can bond over being made in shadow’s image… or more important, left in his shadow

- looking a bit deeper, they have identity issues

- they were created to serve others as a tool with no say in the matter and no autonomy, while also being blamed for losing their family (iblis and the dark arms)

- neither asked to be responsible for the existence of their people/deity yet here they are, thrown into life being tossed around like meat and unfairly demonized for self preservation

- i swear to god eclipse did nothing wrong and had no ill intentions, he deserves someone who can help him and i think mephiles would be viable since he’s a demigod and all

- MEPHILES NEVER GOT TO LIVE!!! he was literally ripped in half and immediately imprisoned by some guy who hated him with 0 context; all he wanted was to reunite with his other half and potentially kill the people who abused him for revenge but apparently this isn’t valid. eclipse would let him tho

- they’re both stuck in retcon limbo together so they may as well kiss to pass the time

- eclipse wants to preserve life whereas mephiles wants to destroy it, they create a natural balance of life. eclipse needs to accept some things must end, and mephiles needs to learn how to let things thrive

- i just think they should take all the dark arms to the starfall islands and cohabitate with the koco. no one else is going there and they’ll keep the islands safe! i’m sure the chaos energy in the land will feed the dark arms (plus whatever mephiles scrounges together with his powers) so it’ll be a peaceful retreat for them :)

okay okay okay so. the fact the black arms diet is specially humans on their wiki has always pissed me off. because WHAT DOES THAT MEAN???

like if it was meat just say meat. which leads me to believe there's more to it look i know there isn't and this was just a vague oversight but gimme something to work with here

it's mentioned in the archieverse that they don't actually JUST eat humans, they consume entire planets which makes more sense so let's roll with that, they have an expansive carnivorous diet

... but eclipse specifically tries to steal the master emerald for food.

so it would be really interesting to interpret their need for food as a need for certain magical energies, and if we narrow back in on the game canon, as well as the black arms' natural power source, they crave chaos energy (which is why earth/mobius is so coveted and why eclipse went for the master emerald)

so why humans? although it's quite clear that sonic & co were also on the menu in shth's final story, i think humans are a better food source and not just anatomically. think about it. humans have evolved and lived off the land for ages now, a land that is enriched and connected to chaos, hell, so many gods on the planet have powers that are frequently magnified by chaos energy! unlike the mixed bag of mobians who may or may not have alien genes (think of the babylonians as just one example and you don't even need to follow my blue eyes theory to see that it's highly likely that so many anthro characters aren't native to earth) the humans on the planet are like... authentically grown and enriched with chaos energy solidarity for generations.

aka very well seasoned meat which is enriched with powers and energetic goodness for the black arms to harvest!
