         it's been a (long) while since roosevelt's come across a being as old as him. he refrains from taking a step closer, however; the lava flowing beneath his skin scorches at the slightest hint of sea spray in the air. he's not a fan of any body of water, in general. 

              "i thought creatures shrivel once they leave the sea."
