Someone said it before me and rightly so, that we are all bits of the people around us. A certain habit of holding the teacup in a certain way acquired from your mom, a certain nonchalant attitude towards people who show off acquired from your dad perhaps, the habit of smiling at strangers acquired from a friend.
I think I'd like to add to that. If that is true aren't we also reactions of the people we are surrounded by? We help someone in an all too similar situation because no one helped us. We smile at someone who just sighed because no one gave two hoots when we bawled out our lungs. We don't join in the laughter of those who laugh at others because we were in their place once upon a time. We don't smile politely anymore because we have seen that smile and we didn't like it.
We are truly all, a combination of reflections and reactions then, aren't we?
