“Judge”, for the Babylon 5 Drabble Project

Merann unexpectedly stole the spotlight in this one!  (And BABY Merann at that!).  “Hold Back the River” AU, of course!

Merann was not Warrior Caste, living for the joy of victory in battle.  Religious Caste were not competitive.

But Merann learned in temple that no one was perfect.  So it was acceptable, then, that she was a bit competitive.  Make that a lot competitive.

She spent months cultivating her aka plant, trimming each branch lovingly and giving it just enough water and sunlight.

So when she received a blue ribbon from the Tuzenor Life Festival and the judge remarked that she had the most talent with plants she had ever seen from a nine-year-old, Merann was very proud of herself.

This one takes place within my “Hold Back the River” universe, as I’m sure many of my drabbles will.  This one takes place far in the future, though.  :)

Lennier sat back and rubbed his temples.  The headache was his own fault for being too stubborn to wear the glasses the doctor had prescribed.  He was unsurprised his battered body had developed yet another defect, but he detested the irony that this problem had nothing to do with the antibody deficiency that had so altered his life.  He had nothing to blame this on but age.

Hands draped his neck from behind.  “How can you see how beautiful I am without your glasses?”

Lennier couldn’t complain – he still around to spend his old age with his beloved wife, Merann.

I hope you can feel better about taking care of yourself first. Those resources are there to help you and if the best thing for you is to pause things for now then it isn’t a waste. Sometimes you need to conserve your own resources for awhile and thats ok

like i know its my brain chemistry thats making me feel this way but logic doesnt really make it stop and im honestly so lucky to have the resources i do w/having my college paid for b/c of my disabilities and im wasting it by wanting to quit

  I googled it and I still don't know. As best I can tell, they're those superfluous decorative straps that go over shoes that cool nu-goth kids call shoe garters. But you don't pull those up, you strap them on so?? But like how perfect is it for out of touch rich people to be telling poor people to pull themselves up by the unnecessary boot  decorations that they probably don't even own? or even know what they are

Dear anon: the core of the show is about friendships, there are great female characters, the morality gets pretty grey later on, and the fights are sooo great.
