Then, he felt chi. But there wasn't anything ordinary about it. At all. It was strong, feminine, cold...odd...

He turned around to the large boulder on the plain and saw a woman sitting there, tending to a winged creature on her shoulder. What was that? It looked like something that jumped (or flew) right out of a mythology scroll. Almost like a winged serpent.

Kenshin's curiosity overcame him and he tried to quietly approach her. "A-Ano, Miss, what's that thing...on your shoulder?"

The pirate tensed at the Queen reasserted her rightful title, putting his hands together in a bowing gesture in the way of an apology. She was certainly observant to have figured him out as a pirate already, but then again Jack was all too aware that he did look conspicuous, though it was not something he was prepared to change about himself.

"I'm sorry, your maje--grace," he hastily corrected himself with a smile, "Though I must point out that any disrespect shown to you is not on account of you being a woman, rather it is on the account of your position." He froze, aware that he had merely swapped one insult for another. "That is to say, I'm really not accustomed to being in the presence of royalty, on account of my position. Savvy?"

At her question, he frowned. "Dragons?" He narrowed his eyes, recalling the many stories of the creatures that he'd heard during his travels, from the legend of St George slaying the dragon to the myths and tales of the creatures in the Far East. "I've heard stories. Never thought they actually existed, though."
