The first piece in a collection of art I've been doing for the original story Hymn of Sand and Stars by @wordherders-hat, also known as @clydethistles. Those of you who have been following me for the last few years will remember that I've done art for her Selkie fic, and many other wonderful F/F stories. Hymn of Sand and Stars follows Ruan, a fiery-haired Liathilean spear maid, daughter of chieftains but exiled from the island she calls home. She will meet the Veiled Lady, a mysterious figure who lives in a gilded prison and wears the veil of a moon-priestess, guarded at all times by a retinue of warrior women. Ruan joins their ranks but soon discovers she has sworn to protect far more than she might have imagined.
